Normally, holes in a quilt are an indicator for rough usage or poor care.
Here, however, they are a design element and are supposed to add a new and exciting aspect.
Apart form the holes, I was fascinated by the idea to extend the piecing pattern into the quilting and to discover how it filled the background almost naturally.
